What is the Butterfly Effect?
The butterfly effect is an often misunderstood phenomenon wherein a small change in starting conditions can lead to vastly different outcomes.
Here is an idea of how to view it from a different angle.
Understanding it and how to utilize it can give us a new lens through which to view our lives and the world in a new way.
“You could not remove a single grain of sand from its place without thereby … changing something throughout all parts of the immeasurable whole.”
— Fichte, The Vocation of Man (1800)
The butterfly effect is the idea that small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system. The concept is imagined with a butterfly flapping its wings and causing a typhoon.
Can you change your past?
No, but you can change your perception of the past.
You can choose to look at it with an open and forgiving heart, a heart of compassion for yourself and others.
You change it by changing you in the present moment and by doing so, you change everything in your past by viewing it from this new perspective.
With each decrease of the ego, the more room you make for love within. The more you release judgement of yourself i the now, the more you release judgement of others, the more you can see everything you have ever experienced through that lens now.
When we release judgement we go into acceptance, and acceptance is really all we need to live a much better life, a life of love, happiness and joy.
See the Butterfly Effect having an effect upon your entire life.
It is the correction of perceived errors, mistakes, hurts and suffering into how everything that has ever happened led to this moment, to this miracle that you are still alive and breathing today.
“It used to be thought that the events that changed the world were things like big bombs, maniac politicians, huge earthquakes, or vast population movements, but it has now been realized that this is a very old-fashioned view held by people totally out of touch with modern thought. The things that change the world, according to Chaos theory, are the tiny things. A butterfly flaps its wings in the Amazonian jungle, and subsequently a storm ravages half of Europe.”
— from Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
The Butterfly Effect does not have to be seen from a negative perspective, transform it into the positive that it offers as well and you will see the effect of it instantly.
You are a unique expression of love and you bring peace to the world by loving yourself.
Have a beautiful day - Namaste
